We spent the afternoon at Crowders Mountain State Park .



A few of the leaves were just beginning to turn.



We hiked to the top of the monadnock. . .



and despite the haze, spotted Charlotte far off in the distance.



( I see Don Quixote.)



Maybe we'll go back in a couple of weeks and make an entire day of it.
