Just verb selection in the first sentence alone is enough to reveal this reviewer's biases: Susan Jacoby's Freethinkers in The Revealer. Haven't read the book yet, but I did check, after Boyle insinuated Jacoby didn't provide "enough" documentation of source material in the book--page upon page of endnotes and bibliography.
