Not only did my beautiful little parrot Ezra lay an egg less than 90 minutes ago, but I saw the egg breeching in time to call S. down to watch, and was able to put my hand under her to catch it--last year's egg passed during the night and cracked when it hit the grill at the bottom of the cage.
The egg is safely nested in the Peter Rabbit baby's cup where we'll continue to ooh and aah over it, and, after eagerly eating banana a few minutes after the grand event, Ezra is now perching peacefully in her cage.
