Poetry shelves?

I've always thought of these corner shelves as my poetry section, but now that the books are turned properly (if you don't take organization into account) instead of stacked sideways I see I have less poetry than I'd thought.

Hmmm.

  1. But poetry books are also notoriously...thin.

Don't those look pretty. I only have one shelf of poetry books.

    That's so depressing.

  4. Indeed. You'd think someone who works in a library could do a little better. :)

I probably shouldn't mention this but...

I can count the number of poetry books in my collection on one hand. It's sad, I know. Occassionally, I do try. Really, I do!

  6. I have a few more, scattered about. Until my daughter reached high school and used them for a project, I did have all the poetry corralled together. I really do need to get organized.

But unless you like poetry, there's no sense in having it, J.S.

  7. SFP, I enjoy reading you. It sounds like you all need a summer poetry challenge! I'm offering one over at bookeywookey - wanna come out and play?

  9. Oh, it is always so nice to see such a nice slab of Robertson Davies on a shelf! Is he incredible or what?

I have one shelf devoted to poetry, but have long ago sort of ran out of room, and have quite a few books laying around, on coffee tables and such. As I have no more room for shelving, I need to do a purge.... it's a yearly thing with me. Select a box or two of books to go to the Rockcliffe Park Used-Book Sale.

  10. Ted--I'm thinking about it.

Bubee--I may have more books from high school on these two shelves than any other.

Cip--Davies is great. I've read only one of the trilogies at this point, though, so I still have a lot to look forward to.

A bang, not a whimper

Two months into L.'s retirement, and I'm finished with the stockpiling of books. No more book purchases! Or at least, no purcha...
