Ellie's New Books

What more proof do you need? Ellie is in want of an intervention program. There's no way she's going to read all the new books she's accumulated over the last few weeks.

(I may have to help her out a bit.)

The Lagoon and Other Stories. Janet Frame

Henrietta's War. Joyce Dennys

Fantastic Night and Other Stories. Stefan Zweig

So Many Books. Gabriel Zaid

The Children's Day. Michiel Heyns (review copy)

Wait Until Twilight. Sang Pak (review copy)

The Shooting Party. Anton Chekhov

The Blind Side of the Heart. Julia Franck

The Life All Around Me by Ellen Foster. Kaye Gibbons

The Man Who Was Thursday. G.K. Chesterton

The Collected Stories. Amy Hempel

The Sentinel. Rebecca West

The Owl Killers. Karen Maitland

  1. Lovely. I've Henrietta's War on my tbr, too, and waiting for Sang Pak's book to arrive. The Stefan Zweig title particularly interests me.

  2. Lovely photo and book selection. Sadly, I have not read even one of those in your pile. Enjoy!

  3. Ellie, you are ADORABLE!
And because you are so adorable, I am going to suggest that you skip that one Chesterton book altogether. I read it and could not make hide nor hair o'it!

  4. Ellie looks like she'll share. Besides all that reading surely will cut into her sleeping time! Seeing such a respectable pile of books always makes me feel less guilty than I should. I'm looking forward to Karen Maitland's first book to come out in paper soon. And I have Henrietta's War all ready to go, too!

  5. I might need to have the same intervention program. When I post this Monday....I definitely need help.

Two months into L.'s retirement, and I'm finished with the stockpiling of books. No more book purchases! Or at least, no purcha...
