Good news: Two Dwight covers on Raul Malo's latest cd.
Swoon.
Bad news (in fact, my husband called it a sacrilege): Dwight's "Wild Ride" being covered by Kenny Chesney.
Shudder.

I've got to grab that Raul Malo album...one of the best voices I've ever heard in any genre. He reminds me of Roy Orbison, in fact.
ReplyDeleteBTW, Dwight has a new one coming in October that will be all Buck Owens covers. Can't wait for that one.
Forgot to mention...any time that Kenny Chesney covers a real country song it is definitely a sacrilege.
ReplyDeleteDo you have Nashville Acoustic, Sam? That's my favorite of Malo's solo work. I used to think a pairing of the Mavs with Dwight would be the ideal concert experience.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait for Dwight Sings Buck! It's being released on Dwight's birthday--the day before my own. :)
No, I don't have that acoustic album...have to look for that one too. Thanks for the tip.
ReplyDeleteSounds like Dwight is preparing a nice birthday present for you. :-)
