Emmylou Harris has said that Steve Earle's "Goodbye" is the saddest song ever written. In my opinion, that makes it a perfect Sunday morning song.

  1. Emmylou Harris: remembering her beautiful long brown hair in the 70s reminds me of Rita oolidge and her gorgeous hair (in the 70s), which made me think of Kris Kristofferson, singer/songwriter of Sunday Morning Coming Down, which must be the most depressing song about a Sunday morning ever written.

  2. Another song I lurve. I've never been able to decide whose version I prefer--Johnny Cash's or Kris' own. You've heard how network TV wanted Cash to change the line "wishing I was stoned" to "wishing I was home" when he sang the song on his show?

  3. Ack! Please forgive the missing "C" and inconsistent verb tenses.

No, I didn't know that. This must be his "stoned" performance:
