February's Library Loot
Stop checking out new books, I tell myself. Concentrate on the books you already own, I tell myself.
But I have congenital hearing loss (seriously!), so it comes out too muffled to be a mandate I'll focus on and follow.
The ones I couldn't resist this month:
Diane Johnson's Lulu in Marrakech
Kim Barnes' A Country Called Home
Julia Glass' I See You Everywhere
Stieg Larsson's The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo
Julie Leigh's Disquiet
Dan Simmons' The Fall of Hyperion
Eudora Welty's Complete Novels
Margaret Atwood's Negotiating with the Dead
Jayne Anne Phillips' Lark and Termite

Enjoy your books! I have The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo on my bedside table, too.
ReplyDeletewow you got a lot of great books. I have been hearing great things about The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo
ReplyDeleteGirl with a Dragon Tattoo was excellent reading
ReplyDeleteYou have a great haul! I have several of those titles my holds list at the library: Girl with the Dragon tattoo, Lark and Termite, and I see you everywhere. Happy reading!
ReplyDeleteLooks like a great pile! I love Atwood and Welty. :)
ReplyDeleteI suffer from the same problems too!!
ReplyDeleteYour loot looks fantastic!!! I cold easily grab a few from your pile!!
I've only read The Handmaid's Tale by Atwood but I really enjoyed it. Looks like you found some really good books!
ReplyDeleteMy theory is that nothing bad can come of just checking them out. Just because you check them out doesn't mean that you have to, you know, read them. I'm in the habit of checking out many different books at a time because I never know which type of book exactly I'll feel like reading when the time comes.
ReplyDeleteI tell myself that too! I have Girl with Dragon Tattoo on my TBR list.
ReplyDeleteI tell myself the same thing, and also to stop buying books. I never listen, but then in my case it's a matter of ignoring that inner voice. I just checked out Julie Leigh's Disquiet, too. And I have the Stieg Larsson that I bought. I may have to check out a few more of these titles.
ReplyDeleteNice haul!
ReplyDeleteAtwood did an amazing job with The Handmaid's Tale. I'm thinking trying other books by her would be cool. I plan to read Oryx & Crake first.
My last three reads have been Library Books!
ReplyDeleteHey.
The price is right!
[You are going to love Negotiating With The Dead, that is a great book on the craft of writing, of being a writer.]
